Friends, please join us in praying for Aaron’s back; he injured it this weekend and is looking at several weeks of slow recovery. This is a tough time of year to have to be off his feet most of the time, but we’re trusting the Lord’s healing power and perfect timing. We are blessed to be connected with a Godly chiropractor who has been treating and praying over Aaron’s back every day since the injury. Praise God with us for this major blessing!
Big update: We mentioned recently that we were a little short on our Wycliffe ministry budget for returning to PNG. We’re overjoyed to announce that the Lord has answered our prayers, and we are now over 100% funded! Thank you for praying with us, and praise God for his abundant provision!
Some of you may have read about yesterday’s big earthquake in PNG – as far as we know, everyone is alright. A colleague in Kokopo told us it was the biggest one they had experienced in nearly 30 years in the country. Here is what we heard today from our branch:
At roughly 22:58 on 14 May 2019 there was a 7.5 magnitude earthquake 45 km / 28 miles NW of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea, roughly 783 km / 486 miles NE of the SIL Ukarumpa Centre in PNG. No SIL personnel were injured as a result of the quake. Communication with all personnel located closer to the epicentre has been established and no reports of significant damage have been received. We will monitor the situation and will communicate any more relevant information as it becomes available.

We had a great family photo shoot a few weeks ago and are working on new prayer magnets to send out before we leave in July. The new magnets will go to all our prayer partners and financial partners for whom we have a mailing address. If you’ve moved in the past few years or aren’t sure if we have your (current) mailing address, you can update your information here. If you read all our updates and pray for us, we’d love for you to register as an official prayer partner; visit our Wycliffe partner page, then click the ‘Pray and Stay Connected’ button.
As always, thanks so much for your prayers for our family and for the Mamusi Bible translation. We’re so blessed to be a part of this ministry with you!
Hello Wade Family!
First, what a praise that God has provided the necessary funds – what a blessing! Second, sorry to learn of Aaron’s injury but glad to know that a Christian chiropractor is treating him. May God’s presence provide comfort, encouragement and complete healing. And what a relief to know that the 5/14 earthquake resulted in no injuries – another praise! Isn’t God good!
We continue to pray for your safety and protection as you prepare to return. May His presence be evident each day and bring GREAT JOY as you share Christ whenever/wherever possible.
To God be the glory!

P,S. How is baby Boaz doing? Give him and the other precious children a “hug” for us!

I’ll be praying for your back Aaron. I’ve had back issues for a long time and it seems, especially on the field, that such issues are almost catastrophic… though it is a time for a good bit of breaking down to build us up looking a little more like Jesus. I myself am looking for some healing as we go back to the U.S. next week. I’m glad we get your newsletters the stories of other’s lives gives us strength.
Blessings,
Matthew McMillan
