April 2022 Update

The Jesus Film was launched!!! On Thursday, April 7, the village of Sivauna hosted a large gathering and celebration of the Jesus Film completion. Their Member of Parliament was able to be there, took some photos, and stayed in our home. The cell tower had been down for a while, so we didn’t hear about the launch until it was over. Praise God with us that this film has finally become accessible to the Mamusi community. Thank you for praying with us about this for a long time. May His word (the Gospel of Luke, specifically) reach the hearts of His elect to save, edify, and encourage.

God has amazed us so far this month with His provision for our ministry and our family! A large gift came that fully funded the video conference system, Jesus Film SD cards, and recording equipment for the translation program. There was almost exactly enough left from the gift to ship everything here the fastest way possible. Praise God with us for this amazing provision! Another coworker, Andy Campbell, who works in our Computer Technology Services department here in Ukarumpa, has graciously agreed to travel to the village with Aaron to help set up the new satellite system and the new video and recording equipment.

Andy and Aaron practiced setting up the satellite dish. Andy’s wife is a Nurse Practitioner here. Thanks for praying for her and their three kids while he’s away.

As we mentioned last month, Dudley King, who is normally managing and maintaining the Lae Regional Center, as well as John Craig, who is normally managing Ukarumpa’s Construction and Maintenance department, will be with Aaron in Sivauna for a week. Praise God with us that these three fantastically skilled men are able and willing to take time away from their normal jobs to help our Mamusi Translation program. This really is a huge gift to our ministry. Please pray for their travel, safety, health, wisdom, and for their families left behind as they serve and love in a different place in the country.

Dudley and Lana King (and our dear friend Megan!) have spent every Thanksgiving with us since they came to PNG in 2020. Isn’t it amazing how God brought us together both in TX and in PNG?!
Aaron and John have been feeding our kids burgers or pizzas several weekends out of each year since 2015, with a little help from the wives.

Our family has personally been blessed with miraculous provision for the kids’ education when we return to the USA. They prayed since January for God to make a way for each of them to attend the Christian Academy of Knoxville this fall, and He did! We’re grateful for this schooling opportunity, but mostly that we got to observe their growth during a long season of prayer about something that God answered lavishly. God is so faithful and attentive.

This is what we looked like towards the end of our last Stateside assignment, 2019.
Easter 2022 with the Kings in Lae. We’re still really bad at family photos.

Thanks for praying about our regional and country-wide meetings last month! It was busy, but refreshing and stretching. The best part was seeing all the Scripture publications that God made possible in spite of the pandemic.

The red dots on the map mark the locations where each publication was distributed. The Mamusi Jesus Film is represented here, too! God is always moving.

Thank you for your prayers and partnership. God is providing for our Wycliffe ministry through each of you. We look forward to telling you all about the literacy, computer, and songwriting courses happening in Sivauna early in May. Grace and peace to each of you.

    Good Morning Wade Family!

WOW – what wonderful news – God’s presence is so evident in all that you have accomplished! How long have Dudley/wife been able to assist you? Obviously, such a blessing! And those kids are growing so fast! We join with you in rejoicing for the many ways that God continues to bless your ministry. May His presence continue to be evident every day and bring GREAT JOY to you/family and those who serve with you!

    To God be the glory!

P.S. And, oh yes, don’t ever forget to give those precious children a BIG “hug” for us!
